While the world is dealing with COVID, the number of monkeypox cases has increased.
Samples of monkeypox from Mauritius were sent to South Africa and Reunion Island for testing.
The Ministry of Health sent samples after people complained about itching and rashes.
According to a statement released on Sunday, none of the samples tested positive for monkeypox.
Testing was done as a “precaution” for two of three monkeypox patients who had recently traveled.
As far as we know, the government of Mauritius has not confirmed any cases of monkeypox.
