Martinique is dealing with a flu outbreak

Martinique is facing a flu outbreak with a rapid spread of the influenza virus. The removal of restriction measures and loosened border restrictions have contributed to the return of both COVID-19 and the flu. Increased cases have led to a pandemic classification, with a rise in flu syndrome consultations by general practitioners. However, pediatric emergencies due to flu symptoms have decreased. Despite high numbers of cases, no hospitalizations have occurred. Vaccination and barrier measures are recommended to prevent the flu, including frequent handwashing, using a disposable mask, and practicing proper cough and sneeze etiquette.
