U.A.E. Emirates Global Aluminium, the biggest industrial business in the UAE outside oil and gas, signed an MoU with KIZAD, part of AD Ports Group's Economic Cities & Free Zones Cluster, to offer Al Taweelah Medical Centre services to KIZAD personnel.

The 2017 EGA Al Taweelah Medical Centre offers state-of-the-art medical technologies and round-the-clock primary care and occupational health specialists. The Medical Centre has a pharmacy, biochemistry, serology, and radiology labs. The Abu Dhabi Medical Centre is near EGA's headquarters.

The MoU will provide KIZAD workers and consumers access to high-quality medical care in Abu Dhabi's commerce, logistics, and industrial centre.

The health and safety of EGA's workers, contractors, and neighbours is a top concern, and we're happy to share our medical knowledge with the UAE industrial supply chain as we strive to meet Operation 300bn's goals.

Abdullah Al Hameli, CEO of Economic Cities & Free Zones, AD Ports Group, said the fully equipped Al Taweelah Medical Centre provides exceptional medical services to workers and consumers. KIZAD cares for everybody, and with 410km2 of activities and more than 600 firms, this agreement enables us promote the well-being of our valued stakeholders.

EGA and KIZAD want to cooperate together to expand the Al Taweelah Medical Centre, including enrolling it in KIZAD's insurance network.

10% of EGA's aluminium output is supplied to 26 downstream aluminium firms in the UAE. The UAE aluminium industry provides 60,950 jobs. EGA employs around 7,000, including 1,200 UAE nationals.

EGA has spent 25 years developing technologies. Since the 1990s, EGA has refitted all its older manufacturing lines with its own technology. EGA licenced its main industrial process technology globally in 2016.

EGA strives to be among the world's top metals and mining corporations in achieving its environmental and social obligations. EGA joined the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative in 2017 to promote sustainability and transparency in the aluminium sector. In 2019, EGA's Al Taweelah plant received ASI accreditation for its sustainability strategies and performance. 2021 certified EGA's Jebel Ali site. ASI accreditation is the aluminium industry's globally recognised environmental and social standard.

EGA started producing CelestiAL solar aluminium in 2021 using solar electricity from Dubai's Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. EGA is the first firm to commercially produce solar-powered aluminium. Dubai Aluminium and Emirates Aluminium merged to establish EGA in 2014.

In 1979, EGA's Jebel Ali aluminium smelter became DUBAL. This property is five times larger than Dubai Mall.

EMAL's Al Taweelah aluminium smelter was the world's biggest when finished in 2009. Al Taweelah is six times larger than Al Maryah Island.

EGA's power plants at both locations suit its demands. EGA generates 6,474 megawatts of energy, making it the UAE's third biggest generator after Dubai and Abu Dhabi. EGA's power plants desalinate water.

Al Taweelah alumina refinery commenced EGA production in April 2019. First in the UAE and second in the Middle East, EGA's alumina refinery. The project decreases the UAE's alumina imports and meets 40% of EGA's demand.

EGA's Guinean affiliate Guinea Alumina Corporation commenced bauxite shipments in August 2019. GAC was one of Guinea's greatest greenfield projects in 40 years.
