According to the Interdepartmental commission combatting COVID-19 spread, Kazakhstan has documented eight new cases of coronavirus infection in the last day, up from five the day before.

Kazakhstan's capital, Nur-Sultan, and Almaty, the country's largest city, each contributed three additional cases to the day's total of eight. One case of coronavirus infection was found in each of the Karaganda and Pavlodar areas.

Kazakhstan has recorded a total of 1,305,723 COVID-19 cases since the global outbreak began.

140 Kazakhs are still being treated for coronavirus infection across the country, with five COVID-19 patients in critical condition, according to prior reports.
