In an interview with SONNA, Mahaday District Commissioner Ahmed Hussein Afrah revealed that the humanitarian situation in the area has worsened, with at least 50 people dying from severe watery diarrhoea and other ailments.
People, especially those living by the river, are using contaminated water owing to a lack of water, he noted, which has resulted in the spread of acute watery diarrhoea and other ailments in those areas, and people are being sent to health organisations for health care.
