The current COVID-19 cases in Guyana reach 949, but the numbers may be underestimated due to inadequate testing or unreported positive cases, warns the health minister. However, Dr Anthony said shortly after publishing these findings that the numbers might be underestimated due to inadequate testing or unreported positive cases.

COVID-19 has been detected in 152 people in the previous 24 hours, according to health experts. The total number of active cases now stands at 949.

Dr. Anthony said that the cases are being closely followed and that the infected people are doing well, despite the fact that 29 of the positive cases are being treated in hospitals, including 17 at Ocean View Hospital and two at the COVID Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The data by area reveal that Regions Two, Three, Four, Five, and Six account for the majority of the instances, with 66, 96, 524, 50, and 147 cases, respectively.

In Region Eight, no instances were reported.
