Hike In Hospitalizations, As COVID Strikes Costa Rica Again

Despite the easing of hygienic precautions, such as the removal of the requirement to wear masks, Covid-19 is still present.

Hospital visits for covid-19 climbed by 5% over the last week, as per the data from the Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS).

In contrast, the utilization of beds in non-IUC facilities has climbed by 21% in the last 12 days.

According to the study, daily intakes have averaged 31 patients over the last five weeks, while the occupancy has increased from 245 on May 13 to 296 on May 24.

The overall number of persons hospitalized as a result of covid-19 problems is 342, with 44 in critical care as of Wednesday.

Despite an increase in new diseases, vaccination is the key to slowing the number of admissions.
