The office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs was established fairly recently. It was set up in 2019 by the President of Armenia. Yesterday the current High Commissioner visited the diaspora in the US. His current visit was largely focused on the overseas support which the Armenian diaspora provided and continues to provide to the Armenian healthcare system.

Los Angeles was the location of High Commissioner Zareh Sinanyan's meetings. There he met with medical partners that helped Armenia during the COVID-19 pandemic and its 44-day war and the subsequent recovery phase.

Leaders from the Armenian American Medical Association, Armenian American Nurses Association, and Armenian American Sports Medicine Coalition were present at the conference.

During the meeting, they discussed their work in Armenia, perils and successes, continued engagement, and a joint effort with our office and the Ministry of Health to address health policy reforms that are much needed in Armenia. He also visited with business partners in Los Angeles.
