What is the ACT Label?

The ACT (Accountability, Consistency, and Transparency) Label is a landmark certification by My Green Lab, which emphasizes the three critical elements in manufacturing: Accountability, Consistency, and Transparency. The ACT label scrutinizes manufacturing processes, energy use, water use, packaging, and end-of-life disposal. Thanks to the ACT Label, labs can now easily identify and choose more sustainable products for their operations.

Arvensis B-Frame BIOCOMPOSITE PCR Plates: A Sustainable Alternative

Arvensis' B-Frame PCR plates are made with sustainably-sourced plant biomass, replacing up to 51% of petroleum-derived plastic used in the manufacturing process. This innovation not only reduces dependence on fossil fuel-based materials but also curbs the environmental footprint of its production. In addition, these plates are 10% lighter than standard plastic plates, which further reduces fuel consumption during transportation.

Besides being eco-friendly, the B-Frame PCR plates stand out for their rigid semi-skirt design and reaction wells made from low-bind polypropylene. This design ensures compatibility with a variety of instruments, making it a versatile choice for labs. Remarkably, Arvensis offers this sustainable alternative at no additional cost, further emphasizing their commitment to sustainability and the continuous improvement of their products.

Arvensis' Commitment to Reducing Plastic Waste

Arvensis' dedication to sustainability is not limited to the B-Frame PCR plates alone. The company has also launched the A-Frame ReLoad PCR product range, which includes fully skirted and semi-skirted A-Frame ReLoad PCR Tube Strip Plates and the ReLoad tool. This innovative product line is designed to minimize plastic waste by allowing used reaction well strips to be safely disposed of while the polycarbonate frame can be reloaded with new strips for the next application. This initiative further reduces the negative impact of PCR plate manufacturing, consumption, and disposal on the global carbon footprint.
