Damascus, Syria- The Ministry of Health has declared today "National Vaccination Day" for unvaccinated infants aged one to five years old, which will extend until June 9th.

Dr. Razan Al-Tarabishi, the Ministry's Director of Primary Care, said, "The programme aims to assess the immunisation status of over 2.7 million children across the country."

"The campaign will be carried out by 777 field teams with 9500 health personnel working in 1209 health institutions," Al-Tarabishi stated.

To maintain the immunity of the vaccinated children, vaccines against polio, TB, measles, rubella, tetanus, diphtheria, whooping cough, hepatitis C, mumps, and infections caused by meningitis, pneumonia, septicemia, Haemophilus influenzae, and otitis media will be provided.
