According to the United Nations World Food Program (WFP), the EU donated to charity 5 million euros to help provide life-saving food aid to 1.6 million persons in Burkina Faso who have yet to fulfill their basic food necessities due to war, the consequences of climate change, as well as the cultural fallout caused by COVID-19.

The donation, and as per the organization, will enable vital aid to those impacted in the nation, which is wracked by violence that really has caused thousands people to abandon their homes.

According to the World Food Program, 2.4 million people in Burkina Faso are now in need of assistance, with that total expected to go up to 3.5 million during the lean period, which runs from June to August.
