Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Egypt’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research affirmed the creation of a sub-scheme for colon and lung cancer early diagnosis which is a subset of the “100 Million Health” presidential endeavour.

Abdel Ghaffar made this statement during a Tuesday tour of the construction site for the African Centre for Women’s Health in Alexandria. He seized the opportunity to inspect other health installations in the region including Gamal Abdel Nasser Hospital, Ras Al-Tin General Hospital, and the Al-Amiriya General Hospital.

The Health Ministry’s official spokesperson, Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, said the cost of constructing the facility is estimated at 100 million EGP.

The minister emphasized the value of constructing the centre, which was erected in 1834 and converted into a health structure with the goal of promoting scientific research on women’s health in Egypt, Africa, and the Middle East.

Subsequently, the minister toured the departments in the centre. They consist of a library, radiology departments, laboratories, three conference rooms, twelve clinics, four simulation rooms, and eight training rooms.
