Kuala Lumpur, May 24 (Xinhua/ANI): According to the health ministry, Malaysia recorded 1,544 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight Monday, bringing the total to 4,492,864.


According to data released on the ministry's website, there were three new imported cases and 1,541 local transmissions.

Two more deaths have been reported as a result of the pandemic, bringing the total to 35,645.

The ministry reported 2,905 new COVID-19 recoveries in the Southeast Asian country, bringing the total number of cured and discharged patients to 4,432,071.

In Malaysia, there are currently 25,148 active cases, with 39 in intensive care and 25 requiring assisted breathing. (ANI/Xinhua).
