Of the 43 cases recorded, 22 were recorded in the Central Division, 13 in the Western Division, 8 in the Northern Division, and none in the Eastern Division.
As of May 22nd, the national 7-day rolling average of cases was 12 per day.
In the seven days leading up to May 25, 2022, 36 new cases were recorded in the Central Division, 22 in the Western Division, 5 in the Northern Division, and none in the Eastern Division.
The Central Division accounts for 67 percent of total cases nationwide, with the Western Division accounting for 28 percent, the Northern Division accounting for 3 percent, and the Eastern Division accounting for 2 percent.
Deaths: We have a new COVID-19 death to report after two months, with the previous death occurring on 04/03/2022.
The COVID-19 death occurred in the central division and involved an 82-year-old female. For several years, the deceased had been bedridden due to multiple comorbidities. She had a week’s history of shortness of breath and fever and was taken to the CWM hospital in critical condition on 18/05/2022. She died on May 22, 2022, four days after being admitted to the COVID-19 ICU. She had been fully immunised but had not received a booster dose.
