From 8 a.m. Sunday to 8 a.m. Monday, Covid-19 claimed the lives of 29,131 persons in Bangladesh, with one corona-related death reported every 24 hours.

Following the detection of 34 new instances of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, the total number of Covid-19 patients in the country has risen to 19,53,481. The rate of detection is 0.63 percent.

According to a regular press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services, 5,362 samples were collected and 5,370 samples were reviewed in 879 government and commercial laboratories around the country from 8 a.m. Sunday to 8 a.m. Monday.

Since the Covid-19 outbreak in 2020, the overall detection rate in the country has been 13.84 percent.

According to the DGHS, a woman from Tangail died of Covid-19 in the preceding 24 hours, increasing the total number of deaths to 29,131.

Meanwhile, the total number of individuals recovered in the country from Covid-19 has grown to 19 lakh 2 thousand 591, with 169 recoveries reported in the last 24 hours.

The first Covid patient was discovered in Bangladesh on March 8, 2020, and the first coronavirus death was recorded on March 18, 2020.
