The Division of Education, Research, and Technology has received reports of ninety confirmed COVID-19 cases since the 20th of April, when schools in Trinidad and Tobago were allowed to reopen.

With 11,973 instructors and students spread over 12 early childhood care and education (ECCE), 36 primary, and nine secondary schools under the Division's administration, the Division represents less than 1% of the total student population in schools.

The Division has stated that it will continue to prioritise the well-being of students and educators and that it will do everything possible to guarantee that any necessary reforms are carried out in the best interests of all parties involved in the educational system. Residents are strongly recommended to follow all Ministry of Health directives for their own personal safety.
