Monkeypox cases in Spain increased by 22 to reach a total of 120 over the weekend, according to the Spanish health ministry on Monday.

Last Friday, health officials announced that 98 confirmed cases of the viral infection had come out in Spain.

Since data is not published on Saturday and Sunday, there is usually a spike in figures following the weekend.

The number of cases in Portugal is a total of 96 on Monday, which rose by 22 during the weekend, according to health officials.
