After putting the latest epidemic under control, Beijing will relax Covid-19 restrictions on Monday.

Public transportation will resume in most districts, with the exception of Fengtai and parts of Changping, on Sunday, allowing workers to return to work and eateries to resume dine-in services. The majority of locations will feature theatres with a capacity of 75%. Within 72 hours of receiving a negative Covid test result, residents are permitted to walk around. Previously, a 48-hour waiting period was required.

Infections in the capital fell from 19 to 6 on Sunday.

In Shanghai, the number of cases reduced to 20 on Sunday, down from 22 on Saturday. The relief felt after the two-month shutdown ended last week has been dimmed by an upsurge in cases outside of government-mandated isolation. Three of them were not in quarantine.
