Yesterday, the Director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus of the World Health Organization (WHO) visited Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
The President expressed his gratitude to Mr.Ghebreyesus for visiting Azerbaijan and attending the Global Baku Forum. Mr.Aliyev also thanked the Director-general for the continuous support and advice that the WHO provided and continues to provide Azerbaijan in the efforts to combat COVID-19.
As a result of his trip to Azerbaijan, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus expressed his gratitude to the people of that country and expressed his congratulations on the country’s victory over COVID-19. In addition, he commended Azerbaijan for its generous financial contribution and unwavering support during the pandemic.
There is a close relationship between WHO and the Nizami Ganjavi International Centre and MOU, according to the Director-General.
Covid-19 is under control in Azerbaijan, according to the President of the country. Infections are down, the problem is under control, and the majority of restrictions have been lifted.
The WHO-Azerbaijan collaboration on hospital infrastructure projects was praised by the President.
Ghebreyesus gave Azerbaijan high marks for its work toward the Sustainable Development Goals. His next meeting was held with the Minister of Health of Azerbaijan.
