According to reports from the Armenian Ministry of Healthcare, Minister Anahit Avanesyan met with José Angel Portal Miranda, Minister of Public Health, Cuba, while in Geneva for the 75th World Health Assembly. The meeting took place on the margins of the conference.

The ministers addressed the importance that each nation's healthcare system places on different aspects of patient care. They came to an understanding that they would work together to advance clinical research, postgraduate medical education, primary healthcare, and health insurance.

Anahit Avanesyan received an invitation to visit Cuba from the country's Minister of Public Health. Mrs. Avanesyan, in turn, extended an invitation to Mr. José Angel Portal Miranda to visit Armenia for the 5th EMT Global Meeting, which will take place in Yerevan from October 5-7, 2022.
