The HCDC must improve the monitoring system and install contactless temp and distance measurement instruments at border gates to recognize suspicious monkeypox cases, particularly those returning from monkeypox-endemic countries such as Benin, Cameroon, Central African Republic,  Congo Democratic Republic , Gabon, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and South Sudan.

Monkeypox preparedness and response protocols must be in place at the center. The local health system is responsible for receiving and monitoring suspected instances of the virus, as well as providing examination and treatment instructions.

Following the discovery of probable monkeypox cases, public and private medical units must immediately notify the HCDC.
