A total of 254 children aged five to eleven received the Covid-19 vaccine, bringing the total number of first-dose immunizations to 34,755 (81 percent) of the age group.

Covid-19, on the other hand, has a booster rate of 70.6 percent.

Dato Seri Setia Dr Mohd Isham Jaafar – minister of health, revealed during a daily press conference that 605 second doses of the vaccine were provided to kids in the same age group, bringing the total number of 2nd doses administered to children to 20,946, or 48.8 percent coverage.

The minister also claimed that the Sultanate registered 279 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday night, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 148,674.

Two further instances were discovered in the last 24 hours after 277 antigen rapid tests screening and 318 RT-PCR laboratory tests.

There have been no Covid-19 related deaths testified in the last 24 hours.

"There are no critical care cases in Category 5, and one case in Category 4 that requires respiratory help and is being closely monitored," the minister said, adding that 215 individuals have recovered, bringing the total recovery to 146,854.

In the meantime, there are 1,597 current cases, with six being treated in hospitals and 1,591 being self-isolated.
