Lower Austria, Vorarlberg, and  Styria were classified as lower-risk regions. Burgenland, Upper Austria, Carinthia,  Salzburg, Vienna, and Tyrol have been designated as medium-risk regions, with Carinthia and Upper Austria barely exceeding the cutoff. Risk indicators have decreased majorly in all federal states, according to the report. According to current forecasts, the majority of Austria will continue to fall.

The validity of the sick leave by phone, which was limited on May 31, 2022 due to the corona virus, also expires with the repeal of the mask requirement. The Austrian Health Insurance Fund (GK) plans to expand this well-received measure by allowing insured people to take sick leave via video consultation. The medical association, on the other hand, wants to limit sick leave to phone calls only. According to Johannes Steinhart, head of the Vienna Chamber and vice-president of the K, the fact that the pandemic appears to be easing is no reason to "throw this useful tool overboard so hastily." He claims that technical flaws remain in the video version.

Experts believe that Coronavirus vaccinations reduce the risk of long-term Covid 19 infection by 50% when compared to unvaccinated people. A large study involving 33,000 people, however, discovered that the risk reduction was only 15% when compared to unvaccinated people. "Vaccines reduce but do not eliminate the risk of long-term Covid disease. Long-term COVID clinical signs cannot be distinguished between vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals."
